WHAT IS SORENSENSISTEM™?
Sorensensistem™ means neuro-reflex therapies developed by the Danish therapist Lone Sorensen and is known in dozens of countries. The basic technique used by L. Sorensen is Facial and Head Reflexology. This method is based on knowledge of neurophysiology, traditional Far East medicine and Argentine Indians’ massage. Dozens of years of therapeutic experience of L. Sorensen herself is key here. Classic foot reflexology did not work in severe neurological diseases. In such cases facial reflexology, working close to the brain, proved to be an irreplaceable tool. The repute of L. Sorensen’s method was due to spectacular therapeutic successes in brain damage, eye diseases, hormonal disorders, infertility. Sorensen herself estimates that until now she has given facial treatments to about 150 thousand people. The results achieved so far are not enough for the Danish reflexologist. She still develops new techniques of work on face and feet. Schools supervised by Instituto de Reflexologia Podal/Facial International (Barcelona) are active in more than 20 countries.
Many times it happens that while choosing therapies or training courses, those interested in facial and head reflexology, potential patients or therapists, make their decisions because of low prices. Please check, for your own sake, who teaches a given method. Is the teacher backed by knowledge and many years of experience or “marketing” using growing popularity of facial massages. It is worth knowing what teachers and therapists of Sorensensistem™ can offer.
HIGH LEVEL OF TRAINING
The secret of success of neuro-reflexology is a training program for therapists prepared by Instituto de Reflexologia Podal/Facial International. Students of basic face reflexology courses according to Sorensen’s method (modules I-IV) are trained in small groups of several people. Students are given high-quality training materials developed by L. Sorensen. Apart from very rare exceptions all maps are colourful, very legible and precise. Each movement of fingers is controlled by the instructor – students are instructed for hours how to find cranial lines and points. The course comprises four two-day modules (according to the standards of Instituto de Reflexologia Podal/Facial International): module I: history of the method, reflexological diagnosis (recognition of subcutaneous concrements), teaching of the basic head and facial reflexological treatment; module II: Chinese meridians, plexus balancing, cranial lines and acupuncture points; module III: neurological points in Vietnamese medicine, facial muscle massage, facial reflexology preparing for delivery; module IV: therapy according to Dr. Yamamoto’s method, intestinal lines (’working’ on hormonal system), 5 elements manipulation, individual therapy planning. Apart from theoretical courses, students are obliged to document therapy of two patients during several months. The final examination is to prove theoretical and practical knowledge thought at the course.
The range of courses offered by L. Sorensen is impressive: Foot Neuro-reflexology (Praxis Vertebralis I, II, III), Praxis Vertebralis (Face), Hand Neuro-reflexology, Therapy of Infertility and Hormonal Disorders, Reflexology in Cerebral Strokes and Eye Disorders, Cosmofacial (I, II), Japanese Cosmolifting, Tibetan Neck and Head massage.
Temprana Reflex Therapy (’early therapy’) focused on neurological and genetic disorders, plays an exceptional role among those thought by Lone Sorensen. A yearly Temprana instructor course comprises about 300 hours of training in advanced techniques of work on face, feet, hands, brain gymnastics, muscular therapy, supplementation, etc. Students write a diploma thesis.
Each year, in April, L. Sorensen organizes a „training week” for reflexologists at Costa Brava (Spain). During workshops, the most modern therapeutic methods in neuro-reflexology are presented.
